Did you fast the day of your wedding?

I did not fast. I am a very poor faster and get very weak. our rav said that its better for me to eat than collapse on my wedding day. so I did!

dh did fast though

nope. got my cycle the night before, rendering me niddah as I went to make mikvah preparations. and I had bronchitis, a high fever, and a spotted rash all over my body.

I fasted, and guess what they gave us in the yichud room to break our fast?

Pickled herring and stale cream puffs... Puke

At least they remembered my cup of black coffee, though. I was a major caffeine addict then (worse than now) and had a pounding headache.

It was one of the hardest fasts ever. I think it was the stress that was hard, even though it was in winter and was short...

Then again, it was Yud Tes Kislev (Chabad Chag...new year for Chassidus)...Maybe we didn't have to fast after all ? Confused

I fasted and we ate in the Yichud room. Also, after pictures, before dancing, they brought us some food, b'H. It got me through the night because I didn't have time to eat anything at the seudah.

I was told to fast til after chatzos (was a very bad faster then) and thats what I did, but I was so busy that all I barely ate and was so out of energy when it came time to dance I was ready to faint.

yes and I think we broke it on the challah by the meal, and that was all we ate. Well, b"h, since then we've had more than our share of food LOL

Yes. And my husband and I both agree that it was our easiest fasts ever!
Why did the hall only provide some of you with stale cakes and herring in the yichud room. We had tons of fresh fruit, cookies and maybe even some good hot food and salads and some sodas--We got married at Ateres Chynka.

until the yichud room. got married in august, and friend got seltzer and powerade snuck in the yichud room for us. I was too busy that day to get a headache (which I often get from fasting)

preplanned some nice foods & orange juice for the yichud room ... however I think breaking it was on the wine Drunken Smile

under the chuppah ... we got married in front of 770 and the lubavitcher Rebbe just came back from the ohel - so we left the yichud room after about 60 seconds in lieu of the food we received a brocha

anyways I remember washing by the wedding but do not recall eating a thing ...

Yeah we fasted until the yichud room. We could barely eat. Had some diet coke and a bit of chinese from the shmorg.

I fasted and was fine till pics when I realized I need my daily dose of caffeine to keep me going... and I ddint really havve time to eat in the yichud room-only wtaer. hence, the feeling a bit funny:(

You know, now that you mention it, I DO remember hearing this.
I got married on Rosh Chodesh, so didn't fast, but I can't remember if we had to make it up or not. I'll go ask my hubby!

No, I was told I didn't have to because I don't fast well.

Dh had to break his fast on water during the afternoon before the wedding because his father took him for a walk in the heat of the day in August in Yershalayim (there was a reason, but dh was bitter about it for a long time, he might still be).

I'm a very poor faster, so fasted till a few minutes before kabalas panim, but then I felt that I'm going to faint and can't receive the guest in such a state, so my father gave me something to drink. I felt much better after that glass of water!
