My kids were used to getting up late b/c they didn't have school since Friday. This morning when I woke the 2 big ones up, my 9 yr old ds (it was his b-day this past Sunday) said he's not going to school. I told him he is and if he doesn't get dressed he'll go in his pj's. I had to get him moving like 10 times. B'h they're all in school and now I have some peace and quiet and I can lay back down as soon as the baby takes a nap.

I don't want to depress you nice ladies in chutz la'aretz... but we're one day ahead and all I can say, is that getting them up yesterday (Isru chag for us) was a piece of (cheese)cake compared to this morning. It seems to be a delayed reaction to the exhaustion.

Cheder starts one day late today bh. But ds has been up since 7;30 a.m. I'm glad, because tonight is sil's wedding and at least I'm hoping he'll be tired enough to nap after cheder.

I'm really embarressed to ask this. I have been in Israel for a bunch of yrs and forgot: in America when there are 2 days of Shavuot do the men stay up both nights or just the 1st?

Just about - they all came back from their father last night, and it's always hard to get them up afterwards bc they get a bit hyper!

My kids actually got up early this morning - 6:30!!! (and I had to go to sleep at 2...) I put them to sleep at their designated bedtime of 7 p.m. and no problems.

Don't be embarrassed. I had to ask dh this too. He lived in the states for 7 years, but he had to stop and think. He recalls that men do not stay up the second night.

No school here for Isru chag! I didn't have to pull anyone out of bed, but the kids are going nuts being in the house another day. It's too hot outside.

Much harder than usual. I am hoarse already from hollering at my boys to get up (they are much worse than my girls) and then to add insult to injury, the bus to yeshiva was way late

Kids have no school today but I have work & have to bring them with. I put them to bed regular time last night, before yom Tov was even over so they were able to get up on time.
Yo'ma - DS turned 8 this past Sunday!
