I am looking for a cookbook that's mainly for cookies, bars, etc., and that has easy techniques - no mixers or high tech stuff - for kids to use.

Any recommendations?

just use soy milk or tofutti cream cheese or tofutti sour cream instead of watever else milchig is asked for

you can't do that with the cookie book I am thinking of. you need butter.

it's the "one batter, 50 cookies" kind of book.

it is canadian and called "ONE SMART COOKIE". check it out on amazon.ca! I use it alot.

The Cookie Book.

You can use margarine in place of butter even in recipes that say butter only. I have tried with much success.

Same here!! I only use butter on shortbreads for shavous.
