I'm not really one yet, but it sounds like a bunch of us are.

Start by sharing tips on getting a sink REALLY shiny! Wink

My husband shines our kitchen sink every Friday. He uses steel wool. (we have a stainless steel sink) I must admit, he does a great job. I don't think I'd be able to do it as well as he does!

www.flylady.net

It's a practical, accessible, and sometimes even fun (!!) way of regaining control over housekeeping. It's intended for those of us who are such perfectionists we never get things done Sad. Flylady, like most systems, has lots of slang and lingo for the steps, which some people may dislike, but here it's less serious.

I like the idea, but haven't begun yet... and I don't know if I want to shine my sink! (the first step- so you have a spotless focal point to encourage you to continue)

I've been to the website in the past, and the sink shining was a bit too much for me.

I checked it out a year ago, a friend tipped me off. I use some of the ideas, but the system does not fit in to my schedule (I guess I have to make and STICK TO my own routines). so I 'shine my sink' [which means me loading the dishwasher at night] sometimes. LOL
but I agree -it's a good system, you might not need a cleaning lady when keeping up with it.

I cannot get my sink to shine-Flylady's advice made it worse! But I keep it clear of dishes and garbage, and it looks great!!

I think that sink-shining can just mean keeping your sink clean and clear. Don't let that discourage you, it can be wonderful. :-)

The sink thing REALLY isn't a big deal; you don't have to shine it, you can just keep it clear of dishes and garbage, and do a quick wash with a sponge. It helps set the tone of the kitchen, and the kitchen sets the tone of the house. I find it very helpful.
