Hi everyone, I am planning to send my 16 year old daughter alone to camp next year. We are not from the US so I'm hoping some of u guys could help me.. These are the camps that we are looking into: Ahuvah, Bnos, Lehava, Raninu (Rina), Tehilla, Sviva. Does anyone know what type of girls go there? Is it easy to get in..? Pls post any info u have about the camps above

I'm sending to bnos. It's easier to get in for second half.

What type is she? There is a big range in type. Lehava is more MO, raninu is mixed MO and not but in general on the more modern side. Tehilla, ahuvah and bnos attract a more BY crowd. Don't know sviva. I think tehilla might be mostly lakewood girls, but not 100% sure.

We are a frum family and try to always keep tsnius to the best we can (covered elbows and knees,..) But we are very open minded and live in a place with all sorts of people, We have internet and devices at home both me and my husband have smartphones. My daughter is very outgoing and makes friends quickly. This is her first camp experience tho..

That's a pretty funny assessment.

Why what's funny? I'm happy to be corrected that's what I learned based on my research.

Lehava is definitely more MO not a camp for typical by girls
Ahuva also has really moved to many girls with issues. Not a BY camp anymore
No one has to get insulted- this isn’t a personal thing. It’s just facts
Why should op make a very expensive mistake because someone here wants to be politically correct.
It’s unfair to op

They cater to more modern Bais Yaakovs but they aren't modern orthodox.

Raninu is mostly modern? Common! The girls need to wear knee socks, skirts fully covering their knees, necklines and elbows covered. How modern can that be

Right I said it's a mixture. But it's not a typical BY crowd. I don't get what I said wrong, I said mixture of MO and modern BY.

Do you think camp dress codes are what determines the type of house people live in? There is nothing wrong with it catering to a more modern crowd. That's a plus for many. I don't understand the problem.

Is 16 a camper or staff age? You may want to find out what the staff options are if she will be that age....

Look into camp sternberg.
Nice mix of girls-light yeshivish to just plain frum/right wing MO., very warm atmosphere, not much emphasis on externals.
Elbows and knees must be covered, I dont think they have a knee socks rule.
Fun, happy, girls go there.
