I wasn't sure where to put the following story. It's cute yet at the same time it's very sad. Also, I would like to say that there's nothing I can do about this unfortunate situation, so please don't tell me to call people.
This morning, as I was waiting for dd's bus we saw a car pull up. I recognized it right away. My neighbor has a best friend whose husband is always here. I know they flirt around all the time and he's here all hours of the day and late into the night. When the weather gets warm they sit outside on the stoop till 12, 1 in the morning. His wife is sometimes here too when they sit but most of the time not. My neighbor is divorced and has 3 kids and I'm sure they know what goes on here too. This guy thinks noone knows about it but it's so obvious. I'll give you an example: my neighbor will eat the seudas this friends house shabbos and yom tov. He picks her up from shul and brings along his son in case of Maares Ayin so people shouldn't think theyre together, however, he doesnt chap that if he tells the kid to stay outside and he'll go into the apartment to wake her up, what does that look like? I have countless examples. Anyway, back to the story, so my daughter kept on telling me that the car belongs to the totty that comes here all the time. I kept on telling her maybe it's a neighbor from the block, maybe it's someone else, who says it's that totty who comes here. After a good 10 minutes of this going back and forth, my neighbor comes out and goes into the car. My daughter jumped up and down yelling all excited:"SEE!! I TOLD YOU IT'S THE TOTTY FROM THIS HOUSE!!" and pointing to my neighbors door.
I found this to be very funny, yet sad at the same time. She knows that there's a totty in a grey car that comes every other day to take the kids and now there's this totty. She knows that he doesnt live here (meaning it's not my neighbors second husband unless he doesnt hold of cheirim d'rabanu gershon )because she sees him here with his wife and kids.
Oh well.
