But isn't it pathetic when you see someone taking on unnecessary hardships to protect themselves from an imaginary crisis?
A neighbor of mine doesn't allow her kids to have any sugar. Ever. Do I tell her what to do? Of course not! But I feel sorry that her kids can't have a little yummy ice cream on a steamy summer day.
Wearing a mask alone outdoors doesn't protect from anything. This is a unanimous opinion. (I'm not going to debate whether wearing a mask indoors among a crowd does anything) So yes, when I see a person voluntarily doing this because they've been brainwashed and traumatized by the powers that be, I feel a little disgusted. Do I say anything? No. Wear your mask. In fact, wear 3 of them. I just think it's sad and pathetic. |
Agree. I can feel sorry for you and think it's sad that you still think a mask outdoors will protect you from covid. And ironically many of the people saying live and let live are those who supported mask mandates and vaccine mandates. So they actually didn't let others "let live".

I never supported either. No one I know who is saying live and let supported either. We all support/Ed allowing people to make their own decisions.

I didn't say everyone I said many. And there is nothing wrong with feeling bad for people. If I feel bad for someone no harm comes to them. When people were forced to vaccinate and masks harm came to them. Not sure why people are getting so worked up from someone saying they feel bad for someone.

I didn’t read all the replies.
When I had corona just before pesach, I too went out with a tiny sniffle on shabbos, tested myself Motzei Shabbos, and immediately called the people I saw on shabbos to tell them.
They were days away from hosting a simcha and it would have been irresponsible not to tell them. They told me not to worry, as they had just had it themselves. But I still feel like I did the responsible thing.
And it is NOT always just a cold - it took me weeks to recover!

There's a fundamental difference. We all make decisions that others might disagree with or even feel is foolish. We can decide which schools to send our kids, how to spend our money, or what we choose to do in our free time.
The difference is that many (not all) are still wearing masks because they believed the lies and propaganda from the media and cdc. It's not really a willfully choice. It's a brainwash.
If a person chooses to live their life underground in a bunker because they were brainwashed into believing that a nuclear bomb is imminent, I think that's sad. It's not a rational decision based on facts. The media does this. Whether it's covid fear, anti police propaganda, white supremacy threat propaganda....it's awful so many people fall victim.

Right. Whoever feels differently than you must be stupid or brainwashed. Got it.

If the person who is wearing a mask while driving alone because of their fear of covid can give a good reason as to why they are wearing the mask, maybe I would feel differently. Everybody can do what they want. And I can think people are stupid if I want to.

And so? That’s still a choice that they are making. You don’t know why they are wearing a mask, you are assuming. There can be more than one reason why people are still wearing masks. You don’t need to be sad or feel bad for them.
Others look at me and think I’ve been brainwashed because of the way I dress. Not really sure what the difference is here….

You made a claim, I’m just wondering if you have any data to actually back it up, that’s all. I don’t care enough to make a poll.

You do all know that Chinese people were wearing masks always (in and out doors) long befor covid came around?
And others wore it inside and outside if they had weak immune systems, again, before covid.
And others (mainly Asians) wore it in the street to protect from pollution.
There are soooo many reasons people wear a mask that have nothing to do with covid. So feel disgusted all you want but really go waste time feeling disgusted about the garbage or the rats in the subway, they’re perfectly ok how they are and your disgust ain’t changing anything.

Oy vey. You're missing the point. Entirely.
Do you believe the media and the CDC has been honest and transparent about covid? If you do, I got a bridge to sell you. If you don't then we both agree many are victims of a good Brainwashing.

Did you ever see a non Asian person wearing a mask when they were driving a car alone before covid? I never did and see it plenty now.

Ok. But why does this bother you?
I mean really. I see people getting Botox and that stuff I had all sorts of consequences but I don’t care if they want to do it.

If your kid catches flu or strep, do you call the school to tell them why you kept him home?
Tell all the moms so they know to expect possible illness etc.?
I'm not commenting on covid, but I'm just wondering how far this is taken as a norm.

If I call the daycare to tell them my kid is sick, then yes, I do appreciate being told 'oh xyz is going around so look out for that.'

amother [ OP ] wrote: | Just tested positive for covid. We were out for a few meals over chag. Do I need to let those people know or are we past that?
I feel so bad( emotionally- BH I only have cold like symptoms . Had to test for school , in an alternate world it would just be a cold) I had a little sniffle yesterday and still went out to eat. I don't want to make anyone nervous though. Do I tell them? |
You should my mom has covid now for the 1st time. I'm the last person who is pro covid But if you're sick with covid you should let people know because people have conditions that conditions that you may not know about And it could be dangerous if they get sick So at least they should know what they have so they can get the proper help
