Right now I think that in order for me to not have to return things that I buy online I will go with;

darker colors,
dolman sleeves or something that is fuller on top,
material that isn't too heavy or too thin.

I do not care about necklines, I can wear a shell.

I know this is a lot to ask for but if someone pinkt has a link that would be a huge help.

Thanks! I wish I can wear that but I will use it as an example. The material is too bulky and makes me look a size bigger.

Very true. Sometimes I order two of each and return whichever is too big or small. I really dont have patience to all the returns though.

not to hijack but crookshank can you post some tops that are shorter and aren't cardigans? I I'm 5"4 but short torso, big stomache and hard to find tops that aren't too long and sleeves either aren't too long or are short? I wear cream, brown, blue, purple, pink... just not white or navy type of colors.
