Me too me tooooooooooooooo yesterday dd ran into the gutter, perfectly aware. So far warning in advance works… also counting to 3 works. Otherwise, I am at a loss. I never had a kid like this!

wow 3 yr old girl getting off the sidewalk aint funny! 3 yr olds are supposed to KNOW not to spill comet and NOT to get off the sidewalk! she's 3 and a half for crying out loud! I counted more than till 3 and did calm down bH..otherwise who knows how outta control I would've gotten...she spilled it into the kitchen cabinet!

Yidmim, firstly – I got rid of all toxic stuff n my house (use natural only) I can’t tell you what a relief this is. Yesterday she drank some laundry detergent, I didn’t even have to do anything!
About the gutter, we yelled, and she argued… at a loss.
She’s the trashing kind of kid. You see her featured in the photography section under filthy kids doing trouble.

Who cleaned up the mess? If you did, she should have (and you helping ). If that's what you did, great. Also, of course tell her what she did was wrong an maybe tell her she can she play with something that is not a toy like pots and pans or plastic cups. If you want to specifically punish, just have her sit down in a designated spot for 2-3 min (put timer on) and when time explain what was wrong. Good luck though because it might just go over head. If you have to punish, you have to do it right away b/c they usually have a short term memory.
For going in the street, I'm very against giving poches for that, but if they do it on purpose, to get at you, I would definitely give one. Otherwise, you just have to repeat over and over again and mention that everytime you have to hold mommy's hand (or whichever adult hand).

Her favorite idea is to go to the bathroom and open Band-Aids (about a box or two) and smear them up with ointment and just wreck the whole bathroom. If she opens the sink to play around some more, I can hear her and catch her in about a minute. Otherwise, I’m like “Where are you” and find her after 2 boxes.

| put a lock on the outside, unless she's toilet trained.

She toilet trained herself at 17 months. Kids like this are go getters ! I put my chometz into a box, on top of the fridge. She’s forever in it!

I guess your only solution, is lock her in a padded cell, trade her in for a better disciplined version, or try to count to 1 million, smile, clean up, and wait for the next time

mahpitom ... is that you're kid ... I guess it was from the start ... eh ?!?!?!
yiddles ... you gotta get her to clean up her messes - she will stop ...
and hands must always be held in the street and for a kid like that they have a leash ...
never ever potch ...

my kid takes a pail and shovel and plays with the detergent. I learned to keep that door closed. same with the bathroom door. he ducks everything in the water (toilet) including his food and then he eats it,....
what wrong with giving your dd a box of bandages and letting her rip it all up or putting it all over her "boo boos " my kids thing that is the best thing on earth to play with.
its all a stage it will pass. one day. I just hope I wont be old and gray bye then.

One of my girlfriends would regularly drink a bottle of Comet as a child (she is now 48)...and her mother would have to rush with her to emergency. There are kids like that, The Comet moved from under the sink to over the sink to a locked cabinet(they never figured out how she got into it but she did...)...
