A hot drink. A good book. Closing my eyes and focusing on my breath.

A texture you like against your skin.

My grandson! And my daily brisk walks - rain or shine.

Something you remember from your childhood which you do with your own kids/grandkids.

As long as it's just verbal I leave them to work it through for themselves. If it turns physical, I step in.
Also, later, when the fighters have cooled down, I might take them aside, separately of course, go for a walk, or to the grocery store, and talk to them about it. Never preach. No mussar. No belittling, like, "it's not fitting for your age blah blah blah."
I might ask, "I noticed you were really angry/upset with your sister/brother. Is something disturbing you?"
And we try to work through what's bothering them. All with Hashem's Help.
It might sound strange, but I mouth a tefillah to Hashem that He Help me handle it in the right manner, before I intervene.

This way works for us most of the time.

How do you grocery shop? With a list, or browsing around the shop and taking what you see you need?

Wow, thank you for reframing how to deal with fighting.

I usually order my groceries for delivery.

Something you do just like your mother did.
