The park is so gorgeous now with the blooming trees and all. And the weather is warming up... Ah! Sooo in my kids' element!

I love this one.

I thought the tshirt was hysterical. this was at Manly Beach, Sydney, Australia.

in case you can't read it, it says "manly lifeguard."

mummiedearest, for some reason I'd mistakenly thought this thread was about pictures of children, and I cracked up, thinking, "So mummiedearest has a grown son who smokes and plays guitar on the street?" As far as the lifeguard, that shirt is very funny, but I pity that poor guy for having to be on that weird seat. In the US, they get those big wooden lookout chairs. It's hard to look even a little bit "manly" when you're perched on a pogo stick.

ok, the first shot apparently isn't clear. he's playing a kazoo and guitar and balancing an umbrella on his head. I kid you not. I like the shot for the memory and the composition, even if his action isn't clear.

secondly, I think the lifeguard was on break. he was sitting on the metal rail going down the steps leading to the sand.

Ah. So I guess we can conclude two things from my post:

1) I'm not very observant

2) I'm stupid

I'll start all over again. Your grown son must be very talented to play guitar and kazoo at the same time, but that umbrella won't really protect him from the rain if it's closed.

The lifeguard should consider getting one of those little folding chairs. They're sold at every Target.

(I'm more observant now, but still stupid)

don't tell my talented grown son I don't know his name. I feel so guilty having forgotten it.

why are people pictures only posters' children? no one sees anyone else?
I don't post my kids' pics on the net, otherwise they'd be up here with all their friends Smile

Good, another set posted for me to comment on. I'm glad to see your son has learned to open his umbrella. It rains a lot in SF.

The sign guy reminds me of this time I drove cross-country with a friend. We were in the middle of nowhere, on some lonely desert highway, and we passed this lone guy holding a sign that said "Roadwork Ahead." I couldn't believe they hired some poor guy to stand in the hot sun holding that sign. Don't they sell standing signs that say that? All of the facials and Botox in the world weren't going to undo that man's sun damage from that job.

(edited for clarity)

Somewhere hidden in the middle is, I don't remember exactly, either Senator Hillary Clinton or Governor Pataki. I think it's Hillary, though. My camera took too long to open and snap... Just missed her.

im still trying to decide if the driving/parking situation here is just as bad or worse than not knowing any of my neighbors!!! I agree, its quite bothersome.

yeah, I only drive in the summer, when I'm not in the city. the pain of looking for non existent parking is not worth the ride. I'd rather walk or take a car service, thank you.

I still think not knowing your neighbors takes the cake.

I remember growing up, when a new family would move in, my mother would send over a cake/kugel and go visit them on shabbos to welcome them. no such thing in boro park.
