Get as much as you can done on Thursday. Get everyone in the household involved in preparing in a constructive way. Play upbeat music while you work!

Something you'd share with a friend but not with your spouse.

I'd like to add re being ready earlier for Shabbos:
Take note which chores can be done earlier in the week. When I started doing this I couldn't believe how many things can be done on Mon. Tues. Wed. which freed up Thursday and Friday so could be devoted mostly or only to Shabbos preps.
And some Shabbos preps. can also be done mid-week.
Certain major chores, eg. laundry, I stopped doing on Friday many years already. It really makes a difference.

Lately I've been getting later and more hectic, and feeling really awful about it. I know I just have to be more on top of things earlier in the week but somehow each week Friday shows up with way too much to do and candlelighting has been a mad dash, not the way I like it to be (or the way it used to be for many years).

Do/say something to make someone else happy. It'll make your own day!

Something you'd find in a library (other than books)

Today I played Master Mind with my kids, as everyone was home with the flu

How do I know when people are no more contagious?

Refuah Sheleimah!!!

From what? corona? flu? a virus?
really, it's hard to know.
if it's bacterial and they're taking antibiotics, that makes it easier to know when not contagious.
I think if have fever it is contagious. if coughing and sneezing that's contagious b/c germs droplets spray on people nearby.
I usually ask the GP if contagious and how many days? and I add another day or two b4 sending back to school, not b/c of contagious but so that the child's should regain their energy and strength.

I wish I had one. Its also driving me insane at the moment cos my kids are off school. The petty girly fights somehow frustrate me the most. They def fight more when I'm around. Maybe trying to escape to another room or upstairs. or trying to keep out of the fight. Wish I knew Sad
