B.chadash, if you're interested in shorashim, etc. You should check out rabbi reuven chaim Klein, who wrote a few books.
He has weekly emails about various words in tanach and the connections between them, and differences between words with seemingly similar meanings.
I used to read them. It can be fascinating.

Thanks! I'll check him out!
I'm not particularly into shorashim but I remember learning a Rashi in high school that mentions this dictionary. And I in turn, spend a lot of time on this particular Rashi with my students.
Rashi fascinates me. Even the grammar ones.

OK. So we had several guesses for this. To be honest, I don't know the answer. My guess is as good as yours. I took it off a sheet I found on Shabbos, that didn't have the answer.

My guess is Ezra HaSofer.

Here is my explanation:

I don't know what it means that he was the father of neviim.

But I think the rest of it fits him.
His proffession- he was known as a sofer.

We know that the Anshei kneses hagedola "returned the crown to its glory" , and Ezra was the head of the Anshei kneses Hagedola.

I would imagine that the dictatory refers to the passing down of the oral Torah.
The mishna says "moshe mesoruha leYehoshua, Yehoshua lezekeinim, zekeinim l'Neviim, Neviim l'Anshei Kneses hagedola. "

He instituted many takanos that are called Takanos Ezra, maybe that is what they mean when they write "I made many regulations."

I could be wrong. Not all of it fits. But I think it fits better than Rebbi..

I was contemplating between the two of them,
maybe the fact that רבי is called רבינו like משה רבינו and that he taught Torah for many generations especially by compiling the משנה pushed me towards my answer

Anyway you can find out the answer?

I hear..but what is his profession? Would you call the nesius a profession?

Also, the expression "hachazira atara leyoshna" is very specific and refers to the Anshei kneses Hagedola. I think so, in any case.

I will try to get the answer.
(I was in another town for shabbos and my son found this leaflet in the shul we were at. I assume they will print the answer this week, but I won't be there to get it. However, there is an email address on it. So I will see if I can subscribe. )

Here is another riddle. I will translate from the Hebrew bec I don't have Hebrew font, but it all rhymed...

Because I forgave my humiliation I was punished,
And I was one of those who made an improper request,
I received my terrible punishment with joy,
because of the portion I was promised.
At the time of my Kapara, I merited to be described in a special way,
Afterwards, it was like I never tasted sin.

I would say his profession was a Rebbi...

maybe if you email them you can ask them what "dictatory" mean because there is no such word in the dictionary...

The origin of the word daven is דאבוהן, coming from the fact that the three tefillos were created by our forefathers.

EtA: By the way, there are a few questions that were left unanswered...

I emailed them..they said they will email me the leaflet. I'll keep you posted as soon as I get the answer!

I also realized that dictatory was not a real word. But I assumed it was from "dictation"- as in the Torah was dictated from one generation to the other. And "dictatory" had to rhyme with the previous line. What
