Rav Broika and Eliyahu Hanavi were walking together in the market, and R Broika asked, who here is a ben olam haba?
Eliyahu pointed to two people.
R Broika asked them- "what do you do?"
Yes. And Shlomis...she said Shalom to everybody. She was too friendly and that's what caused the mitzri to desire her.
(Heard this from R Amnon Yitzchak.)
The only thing I can think of in the Torah that has wings are eagles. Al kanfei nesharim.
Am I on the right track?
You're on the right track that it's a bird. But not an eagle.
There is a name of a bird mentioned in the Torah. In the gemara the same word refers to a horned animal (think Hebrew versus Aramaic).
And in megilla Ester the same word appears twice with a completely different meaning.

Yes
Tor - תר
In the Torah it's a dove.
In the gemara it's an ox.
In the megilla it appears twice:
וּבְהַגִּ֡יעַ תֹּר֩ נַעֲרָ֨ה וְנַעֲרָ֜ה
וּבְהַגִּ֣יעַ תֹּר־אֶסְתֵּ֣ר בַּת־אֲבִיחַ֣יִל

This is one of my favorite lines in the megila. I love the tune.
