whether the child feels proud of her accomplishment has a lot to do with her parent's/ganenet reaction, comments and encouragement

I can't think of something on the spot.
My children love cutting their outgrown shoes into sandals or slip ons. Of course, they only wear them at home. Funny thing is I loved doing the same when I was their age.
