Does anyone else have a child under 10 who is still fasting? I'm not encouraging it, but my child wants to.

I don't yet have such an old child yet, but my mother never let us fast after twelve at such a young age.

I'm not letting either but I'm not going to threaten and hit my child to get him to eat.

It gives a child a sense of control which makes them very proud of themselves. I just like my kids to have full stomaches.

It's ok. I've fasted before I was 10. Unless the kid looks very pale, weak, or dehydrated, I wouldn't make a fuss.

Our Rav said to not allow a child to fast. DH called the Rav when DD was with him, bh she listened to the Rav.

My 10 year old really wanted to fast, I told him he could until chatzos. Chatzos came and went and he refused, I just left his food out for him, he ended up eating it before 3.

Maybe she wants to partake in the break-fast meal? Would she need to be in bed otherwise? Perhaps it's just a case of FOMO.
