Guys, how much of a player is Yossele? Like within five seconds of meeting a girl, he'll tell her how special she is, how brave, etc.
I actually think that's not so authentic. The typical yeshiva bachur would not have the guts to say those things.
But he sure knows how to make a girl feel good.
Yeah, Lipa's a charmer (and it appears his son has inherited this quality too).t
Gitty is tight lipped and controlling but can you blame her?
She's been through trauma, and even if she's forgiven Lipa she's scarred by him too and doesn't trust him 100%, probably with good reason too.
I blame her because she was this way even before Lipa went off to South America. That being said, trust, and respect, once broken is very hard to regain.
I found it intriguing that Malki doesnt want her husband back, and Gitti never entertained such a possibility. When Gitti was alone, the only thing she wanted was for Lipa to come back. To be a normal family again. Malki sees she is better off without her husband despite not knowing how she will manage.
And she reflects on the fact that we women just swallow it all. We let our husbands do whatever they want and then just accept them back. Two women, similar situation, completely different ways of viewing it.

Gitti just swallows it all because fitting into her community is of utmost importance to her. She can't even imagine anything else.
Of course she is bitter and harsh. She had to take Lippa back no matter what he did. In her eyes, she has no choice.

I think this is true, but that's her personality. Very black and white. She as well as anyone knows that a "good" shidduch might not mean a happy life, but it's of utmost importance to her. She cares more about what people think than about helping her friend Malky (at first). She's a very "in the box" kind of woman, which is of course how she ended up with Lipa, who pushes her. I think those kind of couples happen a lot-sometimes for growth, sometimes for stress.
I wonder if having Malky work for her will change her opinion. Maybe she will be influenced by Malky and realize she doesnt need Lipa?? It sounds out of character, but who knows? Hopefully not.
Does anyone wonder what happened to Yosi? Shira Levi's intended date? In the Chaim Walder story, the other pair goes over to the girl left alone to ask her if she is his date. But that's not mentioned.
Also. It's a bit weird that Shira Levy calls out to Yossela when she meets him outside the Kosel, and when he responds with delight, she said, I cant talk to you! I would think that most girls who just got a no from a boy would run the other way if she bumped into him.

It might be good for her. To air out the resentment she swallowed and which makes her so uptight.
I doubt they would ever split long term, but it would do Lippa no harm to discover he can't just do what he wants.
Actually the two couples I know who split due to the husband's infidelity- it took years. They forced themselves to get over it, 'for the family' , until they no longer could .
I agree. If anyone is at fault, it's the ganenet who gave over the wrong baby, not Akiva. There's nothing wrong with sending a friend to get your baby.
The reason they were hard on him is because they said he was drunk. But if I were the ganenet, I would have been too scared and embarrassed to report it, because really the fault was her own.
How would you translate revacha in English?
On telegram now and some other links but don't know how secure they are.
First of all, need to go back to my comment someone questioned about Gitty being the worst dressed. That was from an interview with the actors, she was asked what she would change about her character and she said the way she's dressed but she tried and the writers/producers actually want her to dress in that way, I guess nebby.
I totally don't get how the Racheli thing worked out but I'll wait to question till more people see it.
And what is Ruchami thinking? That she can hide this from her husband?
