Most of my family (including me) hates breaking their fasts on fleishigs. In our family, a Shabbos meal needs to be and have fleishigs. I don't know what to make.

I want something light that can be eaten at one's own pace, including food that is filling. My family are not big fish eaters, and most of us consider chicken too heavy for post-fast. We don't have to eat the fleish, but can't have milchigs; there's definitely no way to keep it warm.

My normal menu. Challah with salatim, then chicken soup. Neither of them are heavy. Maybe your family would be happy with a good chicken soup full of vegetables. If even chicken soup isn't acceptable post fast then make a good parev vegetable soup.

We will have a main course, but I'm expecting people to be fairly full by then, so won't make too much. Then a fruit based dessert.

I think soup and bread and salad is delicious Post fast on a regular fast day.
If chicken soup doesn’t work for you then prepare any pareve soup you do like.

I didn’t know that Friday is a fast day. Thanks for that information.

How about a good old vegetable salad with fresh challah and some dips?

What about a chicken barley soup that is very filling but not everyone needs to eat the chicken from it?

Start with challah, dips and salmon and salad. Then see if there are any customers for the rest of the seudah.

We are thinking of having dairy. First course onion soup with croutons and grated cheese, or else pureed pumpkin-sweet potato soup. Then for the main course salmon, noodle-cheese casserole, salad, and some kind of cooked vegetable. But most important is to begin with coffee!

If you specifically want to serve something with meat, what about vegetable soup with meat? That’s the only fleishig thing I can imagine breaking my fast on (I wouldn’t eat the meat).

Definitely doing a vegetable soup, lots of veggies and lokshon. We don't do well with raw vegetables post fast: any idea for light easy salads that have cooked veggies, or marinated?

We never eat fleishigs after a fast. But shabbos.... we will naturally crave our shabbos food when we come to the table for kiddush... I’m sure of it
