What time of tea can I give to my 6 month old? She has a bad cold.

Camomile tea is probably OK, but I wouldn't give too much. Especially when sick, babies need all the nutrition they can get and tea doesn't have any, but will fill her up so she takes less breast millk or formula. If you want to give a warm drink, warm breast milk or formula will work just as well and will also give her a nutritional boost. A cold is a virus and no tea or treatment will make it better any faster.

BTW--be careful if you are pregnant. Camomile tea can cause miscarriage/preterm labor. Its not as harmless as people think!

In addition to the tea, I think it's good to give her water to help flush the cold out of her system. It will also be good in terms of keeping her hydrated.

also the mom should load up on vitamin C- you take 4 grams. its a hefty dose for an infant but when it goes thru your system and into your milk she'll get just the right dose. and it'll be good for you too. anything extra in your body will flush out with urine.

nurse her a ton!

oy proudmom - your poor baby. One of my kids used to get ear infections everytime a tooth came in - it was crazy. The other mommies gave good advice - I would just add a vaporizer in the room to help break up the congestion. refuah shalaima
