Recently was invited out for shabbos and asked to bring "snacks" for shabbos afternoon. It threw me because I am not used to that for adults, so much (there won't be any children at this person's home).
I am guessing some nuts and candies? Pretzels? I don't think I realized this was a thing... I am always so stuffed after shabbos lunch meal.
What do most people do?

I would do a nuts, chocolate, dried fruit platter type of thing (from oh nuts if you have one by you)
oh nuts also has diff kinds of seeds, corn nuts if you're into those

I'd do nuts, chocolate, maybe a bit of candy. Some popcorn, chips and pretzels.

We always make fresh popcorn. Chocolate and fruit are winners, too. If it’s up your alley, you can also bring Cooloos (adults only).
