I did bake, but not cook so much...
I saw my mother do it, baking and cooking, and I could do a scrambled egg...

...but I had not cooking classes at school

What was most difficult for me was learning to wait... I was too impatient...

The first thing I would teach in a cooking class is "You don't cook what cooks is the heat"... I.e. teach that the cook just does the preparing, but that the heat does the real work...

Because over time I dscovered there are so many things that you just have to leave to simmer for hours - or to bake for half an hour - and suddenly it's delicious.

Do you cook with your mouth, I.e. do you always taste and perfect the seasoning when you cook?

Not much.. it was a small school... so it all depended on individual initiatives by teachers... one music teacher organised a ragtag band, one teacher organised a box club for some time... one teacher organised a meteorology club... some students organised a film club...

Question: see above...

I am not doing any errands tommorrow. I need to pack & travel. That's why I want all my cooking done & not rely on tommorrow to finish cooking. I am so tired but won't hit pillow yet.

Do you like doing errands on erev yom tov?

I like going to shul on simchat torah, but this year it willbe boring, since no singing or dancing is allowed... so I won't go...

Are shuls opened despite lockdown?

Last I heard it was 10 inside or 20 outside allowed. (we do the 20 outside so I don't really know what goes on inside)

Why are the Americans complaining all the time? They don't even know what a real lockdown is.

I can't understand that either... they seem to have a weird notion about liberty and they do not seem to know what civic duties are...

Are you american?

Yes I am American. Not traveling out of country. More local traveling. I just finished quarantining my family. It's over 3 weeks. Over a week after symptoms.

For how much longer do I need to isolate?

Till there’s a vaccine.
Btw WitchKitty and ChanieMommy we didn’t do shul at all in March April May. DH and sons prayed at home. Not even backyard minyan at that time.
It’s hard to compare different scenarios in different parts of the world.
Do you like to travel when you have to schlep your own food?

Happy you asked! No!!!! I really, really don't like it!
I had to do it a lot for professional reasons and it was such an extra hassle...
I got used to it, I learned what you need to take, what you can buy locally, etc...
But it really put me off travel...

We had no Minyanim from a week or so after Purim until Shavuot...

But we had no complete lockdown. It was always allowed to go out, but not in groups, only within immediate family or with one person... the government thought it was important for public health (so that people don't get too fat and don't kill each other out when cooped up in small flats). Parks were closed for some time, they wanted us to go to the woods, not everybody at the same place... anytime people started to flock to the same place, they would close it...
School started again in May, with half-classes, capsules, (but no mask mandate) etc...
Schools also did sleepover camps...

Now we have an explicit prohibition to sing and danse...
and we needed to provide extra space for social distancing... and I think masks are mandatory in shul...

Do you like to travel when shlepping all the food?

I hate it. I try to avoid going anywhere if I need to bring food. I’d rather stay home.
When is the last time you slept anywhere but home?

I’ve done it in the past but when I got older and smarter I sent DH and sons without me.
Would you be ok being home alone with the girls rosh hashana?
