Ok here’s the one I was looking for from a while back, I thought it was a very good one:
So there are 100 people together in a dark room. They all get a hat on; there are 50 white hats and 50 black ones.
One by one, they have to go into a room with light and line up in such a way that all the black hats are on one side and all the white hats on the other. It should be 1 big line all together.
They're not allowed to talk or communicate in any fashion, and clearly they can't see what color hat they've got on. They can only see the hats of the other people.
How can this be done?
A bit unclear...
Does each person have to go into the correct position as soon as he walks into the room? Or do they line up once they're all in?
But yes each person when they get into the room must put themselves into a position and no changing after...

Finishing thinking while typing.....when 3rd person comes in, he sees whether first 2 are same color. If they are, he takes any side, otherwise he sandwiches between the two. Same goes for every person....

Reminds me of similar riddle, but totally different solution.
50 prisoners will be lined up, so that each prisoner will be able to see all prisoners in front of him, but not behind. They will each be wearing either a red or blue hat. The ratio of red/blue hats is unknown. The warden will ask one prisoner at a time what color hat they're wearing, starting from the last prisoner in the line, moving upward. Whoever answers the wrong color, will immediately be shot to death. If they get it right, they're free.
The prisoners are allowed to huddle together before, and they devise a strategy that will ensure the least amount of deaths. What was the plan?

Still seems like a lot of deaths, but does every second one day the color of the person in front of them. So that at least 50% is saved, plus all the randomly correct ones.

The last person will say the color of the one in front of him so that the one in front will at least be correct when he answers. Continue the pattern with every second person. Half of them will be taking a 50% risk. This sounds terrible. I hope I’m wrong.
Can they only say the word red or blue or can they use more words, or can they shout if the person in front is wearing red, and say quiet
Y if the person in front is wearing blue etc...so that only the last guy is doomed.

The solution is in the 'strategy'. They follow the rules.

Last person sees the one in front of him is red, so he says "red". He may or may not be right. The next person knows he is Ted. But the guy in front is blue. So he says "I'm not blue". So his answer is correct while informing the guy in front of him that his color is blue. If the guy in front of red is also ted, he just says "red".

So my answer is within the rules, when they need to answer which color hat is on their head, the can say it loudly if the person in front of them is wearing red, or answer their answer quietly to indicate that the person in front of them is wearing blue...
