slam an individual anonymously on a public social media platform would you be okay with yourself by posting a generic public anonymous apology a few months later?

Do you consider this healthy adult behavior?

Or, do you think that it's more appropriate to send this person a private apology?

I'm with you.
That is a perfect non-apology. Just a feel-good act.

Healthy adult behavior? Not sure. (is it ever healthy adult behavior to slam someone publicly even if anonymous?)
But to apologize in the same platform (I.e. blasted on this site and apologize on this site) as the lashon hara probably makes sense.

And if this person who was slammed never knew about it? Why add insult to injury? You want to make a formal apology to make yourself feel better. Meanwhile, that person only found out about your wrong doing due to the apology.
