They are food boxes for weekend
Personally I don’t like ready made Shabbos food like chicken, Cholent kugel they I make anyways for the whole family. I think it’s also more expensive so you get less food.
I’d rather deli or tuna or cheese, raw vegetables or canned veggies, fresh fruit (over prepared coleslaw or dips or apple sauce)
Does anyone know if MRL stopped giving the boxes?
I am signed up and usually get a text by Thursday of when pick up is scheduled. Didn’t get notice that program was over either tho..

I believe the kosher weekly boxes have stopped because school started. Schools are getting funding through the end of the year, so the meals will be free for every student. I'm curious if they will be sending the kids home with shabbos food like they did in many camps.
Well, the fun is over!
Some of the food was so helpful and appreciated.
The rest is renting space in my freezer and pantry. Time to use the stuff we didn’t really want but came in the box.
This era of food boxes, shabbos boxes will be something we’ll never forget!!
There was one distribution today on Joe Parker. Does anyone know if anyone else is doing this weekend? It's for kids and babies not receiving lunch in school
Please be aware that there will be no meal distribution today. We are working with the state to try to extend the food program through December, and will inform you as soon as we receive a final answer from the state.
I imagine it will depend on if there is free food for the kids in school or not. Obviously, one can't double dip. I imagine that either there will be boxes and we will send lunch/pay for school lunch, or the food will go to the schools for lunch and only kids who don't go to school (remote/homeschooled/toddlers) will be able to get boxes.
I pay for my kids lunches and they starve! I'm sorry but some places have a chutzpah to claim they feed kids....
Pizza on wheels said it's fake news. I went yesterday...
I got lunch today from pizza on wheels. Potato knishes. I called first and they said it's only for kids not in school, for example if they are home in quarantine.

Not sure. Maybe 11-1? You can try calling Pizza On Wheels. I found them very helpful. I called ahead and they put lunch out for me on the counter waiting when I got there. Do you mind posting if you go what it is?
