I wish I could add violent crime rate onto Amarante's chart. Bar graphs are so much more impactful than numbers.
Violent Crime Rate:
White: 59%
Black: 38%
I was also curious to see the percentages by race of who killed cops on duty. The best data I found was this FBI Table which shows that of the law enforcement officials killed while on duty between 2004 and 2013 , 52% of the offenders were white, while 43% were black.
As you can see, simply looking at population rates is simplistic and useless.
