People are saying it’s only a matter of time before the schools in our area are shut down and we are quarantined. My husband and I both work and get paid hourly. (Why is a discussion for another time.) I can probably arrange to work remotely but my husband can’t. If there’s no work, we don’t get paid. We are barely scraping by right now. I just don’t know what will be.

They are passing a law to protect people like you. Everyone will be in the same boat.

I'm much more afraid of the virus itself. Quarantine is the smallest problem

Eviction is pretty major for us which is where we’ll be if we can’t pay our bills.

Actually, we probably do. The numbers of those infected in the US will rise. People will stay home and avoid crowds. Schools might temporarily close. We will all be careful to follow what the CDC is telling us. Most likely in a few weeks this will pass and things will be back to normal.

The problem is not evicting in a state of emergency. The problem is that OP will now be several weeks/months behind with no way of ever catching up if she's living paycheck to paycheck.
IF there was rent/mortgage forgiveness, she MIGHT be able to weather it, but chances of that are slim as landlords need to pay their own bills too.

My office is preparing everything to have remote access. They did a survey to see who already has access or the possibility for access and they are trying to be proactive. The business owners are just as worried about their employees not working and having their businesses go under, as much as the employees are. I am paid hourly and so is my DH. I’m more concerned being able to focus on working with all my kids home on top of me.

I read somewhere someone works in a restaurant and because of the virus their boss stated that though they aren't laying people off, they are only gonna have 1 person per shift or something. This person is also scraping by and needs the money. Many people were suggesting to that OP to file for unemployment. I wonder if there is a way for you to do the same...

I am also self employed, working in a school, and would be out of work if chvs schools go online. I'm really really hoping for the best.
