I have heard that alot of the Pesach programs have been canceled.

Have any of you booked and had to cancel because of covid-19 concerns or the program was cancelled?

Have you actually heard of any that are canceling, or just vague “programs are closing”?

Leisure Time Tours, an American operator based in New York, had to cancel its Rome program due to concerns about the coronavirus.

The Israeli operator Gem Kosher canceled its sole Passover program, in Pattaya, Thailand, offering partial refunds to the hundreds of guests who had booked rooms at the Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa, 100 miles south of Bangkok.

According to this 2 in Italy and 1 in Thailand and 1 in Rome. So far. I’m sure there will be more.

There are a number of reason ppl can’t make pesach.
Those who go because they can afford can afford the in home cleaning and catering anyways.
It’s those that really need to get away that will have it hard.

I feel bad for the people that aren’t well enough to make pesach at home... and now have to figure out what to do.
I’ve never been away for pesach and wouldn’t want it but it must be hard for them.

Have you ever been to a pesach or other yom Tov program? Many of the ppl just want a vacation but many many others have nowhere to be for yom tov. Older singles, orphans, bt. Or they cant make it at home physically or logistically. It started for the rich but has come to serve many others.

If you don't want to feel sorry for the people who go to these, you can at least feel sorry the people who run them. This is a huge chunk of the yearly parnassa for a lot of people in the hospitality industry.

I went away to a hotel one year. I didn't have the means and I'd love to make pesach home but it wasn't possible for various reasons. Many people at the hotel had unfortunate reasons for going away.
Under typical circumstances, people would stay home but life sends situations where you've almost got no other choice.
This year as well, I have no plans for pesach as of yet. I cant stay home in our tiny apartment, no help, little energy...
For many people hotel arrangement are crucial, not luxury.
