I saw fake news that anyone returning from Israel will have to quarantine.
I have a family member returning soon and wondering what it would entail if they would put up such a quarantine?
Would other people be able to stay in the same house without being quarantined?

The virus is still very much controlled on Israel, so I doubt that this is accurate.
However, to answer the question. The person being isolated should stay in one room, preferably with a private bathroom. Other members of the family may remain in the house, but they should interact as little as possible. Meals may be handed in through the door, ideally on disposable dishes. If the person does need to leave the room for any reason (like to use the bathroom), it should be as brief as possible, and other members of the family should make sure they are in a different room at the time, in order to minimize contact. The other members of the family may continue normal life, while maintaining strict hygiene procedures (like washing hands at regular intervals).
The point of self isolation at home is because the person is considered at risk, and that they shouldn't spread it. If they test positive for the virus it all gets stepped up a level.

Where did you see this?
ISRAEL is quarantining people arriving from a lot of countries. There was a rumor that would include the US, but that has not occurred.
The US has not announced any restrictions regarding Israel travel. Given that coronavirus isn't rampant in Israel, I highly doubt it will in the immediate future.

The lawyer with Conora/Conor’s/carona virus lives in Westchester County and works in Manhattan. He had visited Israel recently but there's no evidence he caught it there. He'd also been in Florida.

Thanks elfrida for actually answering the question.
I specifically wrote that it was fake news I was just trying to figure out what quarantine means for the rest of the family... What should we be preparing for?
since there is a chance that either from this or for other exposures many local people will be quarantined.
I think the frum local world where people daven, go to simchas, and school all together has a bigger chance of having to be quarantined at some point.

All Israelis returning from France, Germany, Spain, Austria and Switzerland were instructed to enter self-quarantine for a period of 14 days after their last day in those countries, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced at a Health Ministry press conference alongside Health Minister Yaakov Litzman and other top officials.
