People are reporting that their local pharmacies are sold out of hand sanitizer and antimicrobial wipes.
Anyone having a hard time finding these items? I haven't checked yet locally.

The WA state cases are in a facility that cares for elderly or otherwise weak people. This will change the statistics since they are more likely to have a severe form.

Yes, all sold out here. My husband found some in a pet supplies store. Soap and water is an excellent option too when near a water supply.
I was told to stock up on panadol and toilet paper.
My supermarket is totally out of rice, pasta, chickpeas etc and other shelves are looking very bare. The checkout guy said sales are up 30% in the last week! (deliveries are normal - just more shoppers, obviously stocking up on non perishables)

Small groceries may be going easy on reordering chometz or kitniyos like rice pasta n chickpeas this time of year. Groceries may see a surge for a variety of reasons. I for 1 like to keep my pantry stocked enough for a couple of days for simple convenience in case of bad weather or laziness strikes so I don't have to run out last minute when everyones panicking... I wouldn't start panicking just now though..

They are unavailable locally and on the internet.
You can make hand sanitizer -- 2/3 isopropyl alcohol, 1/3 aloe vera gel.

On Sunday my local target didn’t have a single bottle of sanitizer - including travel and refills. I ended up finding in a local Jewish store. Antimicrobial wipes they had a lot of (it looked like they filled the space of the hand sanitizer).

YU's message:
Dear Yeshiva Community,
We are writing to share two pieces of news related to COVID-19.
We have learned that one of the children of the Westchester attorney identified as New York’s second case of COVID-19 is an undergraduate male student at Yeshiva University.
We are working closely with, and following the recommendations of, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response and other government agencies to take every necessary precaution to ensure the safety of our community. The student has not been on campus since Thursday, Feb. 27, and is in quarantine with his family. The DOHMH is testing the family.
Additionally, a Cardozo student is in self-quarantine as instructed by their doctor as a precaution because of contact with the patient’s law firm. The Cardozo student is reporting no symptoms.
The University is disinfecting all relevant common areas.
We will continue to work closely with the DOHMH and will share information as we receive it. In the meantime, we urge you to follow the CDC’s guidelines on hand-washing and coughing and sneezing practices that prevent the spread of viruses. If you feel you have symptoms, contact your doctor or call 311.
Students can call the health commissioner’s office if they are concerned they’ve been in touch with the student being tested: Samantha at 347-396-4166.
At this time, all University functions and classes are continuing to operate as usual.

Additionally, congregants of the Temple who attended services on February 22, and a funeral and a bat mitzvah at the temple on February 23 must self-quarantine until at the very earliest March 8.
