aw ...  boo hoo ... that is so ... b e a U ti full ...
now type it on a piece of paper - sign it ... burn the edges ... get a piece of nice wood ... sand it ... create sanded edges like grooves around the circumferance with a piece of sand paper and your finger as a guide ... stain it if you'd like ... glue the poem on the wood ... now shallac it ... put a "hanger" on the back ... and voila
you could even paste a family picture on same

Nothing wrong at all. Just makes more sense in context of this thread rather than in real life. Why buy something? Why want to make them cry? It's a little tacky to mention that money is short. Like hi I am not giving you a real gift bc I dont have money so here is this poem. I know what you MEAN since I read this thread, and its nice in the context of this thread, but to them I dont know if it would be the same.

I wrote one of those types of poems to my parents a number of years back and she had it matted and framed...it hangs in her bedroom.
(Your family dynamic and your husband's family dynamic could've also described ours. Go with the poem!  )
