A woman did a favor for me so that I didn't have to do anything and it was a real lifesaver. I want to give her cookies in a nice box or sonething with ribbons and bows and all cutesy but I've never done it before. And I want to make it, not order from somewhere. Any ideas on what I could put the cookies in?

Good points, Tehilla. You can also buy a pretty and inexpensive tin in a store like TuesdayMorning or Home Goods.

you can buy a pretty plate or serving platter and display the cookies on the plate, wrap it in cellophane and tie it with a few different colored ribbons. ( curled ofcourse). Try to coordinate the ribbon colors with the colors of the plate. You can get this type of plate at Happy Home, Yellow Door, Kitchen Clique, ( this is if u are in flat.bush/brooklyn area). OR try- Home Goods, Tj MAxx or Marshalls in the home section. Goodluck

How much would a tin cost? I'm new at this....

She eat's outside food.

And she is good friends with my shvigger so I partly want her to make a comment to my shvigger about the pretty and thoughtful package....I know, Ulterior motives are bad.....

Sthillmom...your suggestion is great and I might go with it bc it's much easier bc I can get those things easily at a jewish grocery store. But you don't think it looks too Mishloach Manoas-y? You knowm with the cellophane covering a clear plate? Smile

hmm maybe a little like mishloach manos, but dont do a clear plate!!! buy a pretty serving plate!! or you can buy an oven-to -table wear and bake her a cake in it and then wrap it up really nicely. I do that a lot and its always a big hit, cuz the person is getting the dish AND the cake Smile

If you met them in real life, you wouldn't make that mistake.

I don't know what kind of favor it was or how much u want to spend, but cookies on a platter of plate that they can keep/use is always very nice.

the favor was: I had agreed to sub for a private preschool as an aide but my brother was coming in especially for the weekend with his wife to my parents for that shabbos. I would not have been able to work and to get to my parents before Shabbos and I don't know anyone in this city and she knows the whole world so she found someone. And I am extrememly grateful.
I really don't want to spend alot because I don't have alot to give....

a sturdy type. oatmeal choc chip cookies, ruggelach. something isn't too delicate. A brownie would also be nice.

OOO I like the idea of rugelach. I was also thinking of black and white cookies that way I could go with the black and white motif.
