we didn't hit the teens yet so this is from younger kids experience.....
My boys are way harder than my girls! There is so much action around here it's crazy! The girls on the other hand are big kvetches and everything is a big deal, overall the boys are harder bec. they are so overwhelming!
I would think that girls are more difficult as teenagers. But I think boys have to be kept happier so they won't go off, I"m not there yet so this is speculation only.

I've heard boys are wilder but girls have more things they worry about as a teen.

I just have little boys now, but I heard that boys are more of a challenge during the baby toddler years when girls are generally easy, and during teenage years, girls are very tough.
I also heard that no matter how mad a boy gets at his mommy, he never feels like rejecting her, but with girls, this isn't the case.
I realize these are generalizations, and I am not an authority to comment, but they are what I have heard and I wonder what you all think...
All I can say is, I find my friends who only have girls have very different parenting attitudes from mine (I really think boy toddlers are quite taxing physically, and I have to "choose my battles" much more carefully if I don't want to go crazy. Girl mothers can micromanage comfortably...)
I also remember my attitudes as a teenage girl compared to my brother's attitudes I hope moshiach comes before I have a teenage daughter...(I hope moshiach comes today, anyway!)

This is precisely what I have seen and heard. Can't speak from personal experience though, with only a little boy so far.

Boys when they are younger girls when they are older.
I can have 10 five yr old girls sitting quietly or doing a craft and step out to a washroom, come back to see my house still intact, with boys that age forget about 10, even five of them, my house will be in shambles if I leave them alone for a minute B"h

Hmm - I wonder if those who think that boys are easier in their teen years, it's b/c they are away in a dorm
Honestly, I think it's more of a temperament issue. Two teenage boys, one difficult, one much, much less so (but still a teen). The oldest is very strong willed and I'm sure he'll put that midda to good use someday. In the meantime....
My oldest dd has always been a highly emotional type. Surprisingly enough, she has mellowed with age. I thought for sure she'd hit puberty and WATCH OUT! But nope, she has turned into a poised, calm young lady. I think it has more to do with finding her nitch as she gets older.
One of my friends has totally mellow boys and the girls are making everyone nuts.
Go figure.

I always say that we call it tzaar gidol banim because if they told us about banot we would think twice.
6 boys or one girl? A real tossup what was harder. And yes my boys mostly dormed but that didn'y make it easier, you still have to be Mom. And the shlep takes a day or 2 when you get called in on something they've done. The thing about girls is that it is so intense. I have one super intense boy and his brothers call him bachura or princessa.

As a mother of a number of children k'h between the ages of 3-18, my informed opinion is: What's the difference, THEY ARE ALL HARD!!!
My explanation of nashim daatim kalos is that they love their kids so much despite what they do to us. Must be something wrong with our minds, and thank goodness for that.

None of the two are EASY. They each have their ups and downs, clothing for one, is easier with boys.

oh baruch hashem... that's why I never had to worry at a wedding withmy boys... stick them in bl;ue and white and there you go. so all I needed to worry a bout was myself!!!! no girls so I had all the time to go and shop for clothes for myself which I still do!!! I love shoppingfor myself clothes!!!
maybe that'll change whena girl come on the scene, likemy neighbour goes to me so when you have a girl you not gonna bye any pink??!! well I said no not in the beginning and not on cheshbon by boys, ie ifthey need more urgently so she could manage in the blues!! ( I have some pinks stashed away from when my sil left to us, her daughter was 2 months and I had alimited amount she could take so she left a ton by me!!)
btw boys tuition is more expensive than girls...

MN, I hated buying for boys, so boring. Now after 24 years I have a gd and there is a little girl to buy girlie things for. So much fun. Little dresses, tchotchkes for her hair. I pierced her ears. Tons of fun for me and dd.

I have boys and sometimes I think I am on a different planet from mothers with only girls. I was at the park with my 15 month old. I wasn't going to let him go up the big slide, because I thought it was a bit dangerous, but he insisted. He climbed the ladder and I spotted him to make sure he wouldn't fall. Then he went down the big slide like the pro.
He squealed and we did it again and again. I was so proud of him and it was so much fun. My other son was riding his bike quickly around the park and was enjoying every minute of it
Then a woman with two girls came up to me and said "It must be hard having boys who are so shovav (wild). How do you manage?"
I had been in a good mood until then, but I was
I answered "It isn't so bad and they aren't so wild."
I suppose she thinks little boys are supposed to sit politely all day and play with dolls?

mimivan I get it all the time. they tell me that my boys are "wild" well what do they want they should sit like shoebox and not move. and bye the way my boys do play with dolls and carriages and they play act with my dd all the time. I guess she forces them the play with her dolls etc. she has no one else to play..
also they love to sit and color and paint and glue and use the play dough.
just bc u have boys doesnt mean your house(life) has to be a ballagan all the time
only half the time the time that u are awake . when u are asleep I guess everything is peacefull and quite.
