My goal is chai times 2, so I can use every suggestion.

all of you slackers should be ashamed of yourselves! In our house, the men start staying up all night to learn from toddlerhood! (True story - last year, my 17 mo grandson refused to sleep, screaming whenever DS left the room, so he brought the toddler to shul. Toddler kept running off with whatever sefarim his tatty, zeidy, and uncles were trying to learn )

This year I will try to do it on purpose, although I might take off the blintzes first, because it is our minhag that we lick all honey instead of wiping it up and throwing it out (like we do by the areinfirenish) so my poor children had to lick the honey-drizzled blintzes off the floor. It is a good thing that my cleaning lady had been able to come Motzei Shabbos to wash the floor, because I don't know the halacha if the honey gets dirty. It might be okay to lick anyhow, because of the halacha that bee parts in honey are mutar, so al achas kama vekama holy dirt from holy feet like my husband's. (I don't know why holy feet smell so much, maybe so they can be used for besomim if you run out.)

Goldenrod, guess what I'm calling one of my quints iyh? Zocken! Inspired by your post!
Your schar is piling up in Shomayim for helping me bring more neshamos into this world!
P.S. Is Zocken a girl or boy name

How many kids can I now conceive?
Who can do the math of all the name suggestions please?
Separate boys and girls columns, of course.
Put Zocken on both lists until we decide what gender it is
TIA

Zocken is definitely a boy. The female version would be Tights.
Alternatively, if you have twins - you could name them both Zocken. Get it?
BTW, I'd spell it Zucken.

Oops. Is this in response to my post? I thought I deleted it early enough before anyone caught my mistake!

In fact, remembering Har Sinai is one of the shesh zechirot that we are supposed to recall every day, so this should really become the new modus operandi for all the daily chores I give to my holy family. |
I am so honored and grateful that you're perpetuating my personal minhag. I feel so blessed to be able to be mezakeh other Yidden with my beautiful mitzvah. Please spread the word to your family and friends. Or perhaps there's no need to. Your family (and mine) will be raving about this new chumrah to their therapists for generations to come. So I guess I don't need to worry that this amazing minhag will be forgotten.
