Any speculation other than 'false Levi'im' being absorbed into klal yisrael of why Levi'im don't show a genetic similarity? This was what one article concluded about Levi'im, speculating that there were Levi'im that came from the Kuzari and their 'priest' took on the name of Levi. The theory were that these men came to be mistakenly believed to be Levi'im. I have a hard time believing it, but Levi'im also should be genetically related!
