yes, it's nuts. the question is how strong the minhag is not to eat nuts. That I don't know!

I just bought 3 containers of vienesse crunch?
do I got to put it away till after simchas torah????????

I asked my dm she said its made of cashews so it should b fine, egoz is for almonds.

In Lubavitch the rov said it's ALL nuts. Egoz is also gematria tov; the rov said it's more than that, that's why we avoid all nuts. I'd def. put it away, if I would have bought it at all.

your mother is prob. thinking Pesach time, when you can eat nuts not in the charosets.

actually my mom told me today that only if it has walnuts then I cant eat it.. so she just wished me hearty appetite..

maybe the minhag differs between families.

Almonds are "shkeidim". Egoz are either hazelnuts or walnuts.

Put it away until after Simchas Torah? I thought we only avoid nuts on RH..

Purple isn't Lubavitch, Mimivan. Anyway, Lub avoid nuts on YK too.

I believe there is actually a different reason given for not eating nuts on erev yk. IIRC, the reason given is b/c they increase mucous production and thirst, making it harder to fast.
