I once remarked to a friend who came from a large family that her siblings were probably helping her with finding shidduchim for her children. She replied that they were all so busy raising their own large broods that they didn't know much about their nieces and nephews. I saw someone who found a solution to that. They printed a calender. The pictures were family pictures from the previous year and the dates had all of the birthdays and anniversaries so that other family members could keep track of them. Cute? Very Happy

I made this for my family (both sides). It has a box for every month & inside is the day & occasion (ie - 8 - Chana's B-day) on the right margin are everyones addresses & phone numbers & email addresses. Actually, I have to update it now, thanks to some simchas!

Hey! Open a business! Have people email u the dates and pics and put them together for them! That's a yearly purchase by every family member.. I would definitely buy it if u did the work! $40 bucks a calendar? $50? Great business idea! And when babies are born, you just add them into the next year's file... Let me know if you do it!

You've convinced me, I now know what my parents are getting for their anniversary!
An Elul anniversary is perfect for this.
Should Jewish or secular dates be on it? Would both be too much?
What do you do when two events are on the same day?
Are yartzheits included?

I wanted to do that for my parents anniversary, I collected all the pictures and have it all organised on my computer but it got SO complicated with some family keeping their Hebrew birthdays and some their English!

But this thread has gotten me thinking of putting it together!

I think it would depend on whether the family use there Hebrew or English dates to celebrate... and if 2 are on 1 day you share the square with 2 pics.
Re yartzheit it's really all preferance...

We've done it and usually put people's birthdays--Heb or Eng--depending on which they celebrate (put in the text "Sara's H birthday) but things get really complicated when there are multiple events on the same day. Snapfish etc do not allow you to combine two pictures on a square, so sometimes you have to put someone's Hebrew birthday because another event is on their English birthday (or vice versa). When someone is expecting a baby I hope for it to be born on an empty date on the calendar!!
