Hi! The other week I accidentally bought a box of phyllo dough instead of puff pastry sheets. I've never used phyllo dough and am clueless as to what to do with the 40 sheets that come in the box! Any ideas would be great! I'm not sure if you use this for a dessert or side dish or something else.

classic base for spanakopita and baklava as well as any kind of turnover-style pastry, bourekas, or strudel. Just keep the pile under a damp towel to prevent drying out, and brush each sheet with oil or melted margarine/butter before stacking and filling.

it's not easy to work with and I ruined a toaster using a recipe on the box once. I'd return it and get smething else.

I know this is not a dessert, but I make candy chicken with phyllo dough.
My mom used to cater small elegant parties, and we made this for a fancy main dish.
made a mixture of chicken and veggies, any kind of mixture, any veggies.....
filled the middle of around 3, 4 phyllo sheets, folded it over, tucked it well, then gather the 2 sides to make the package look like a candy.
we then took scallion greens and used that for ribbon!!
its delicious, and very special looking.
you can make the same idea with apples and fruit or something desserty like that!
