hair spray. works on hard surfaces and fabrics. I've removed permanent marker from my kitchen table with it. good luck.

for fabrics, spray with hairspray repeatedly until all the ink is out. make sure to put paper towels under the stain to absorb the ink and not cause new stains. after, just throw it in the wash. for hard surfaces, alternate spraying and wiping until the stain is gone. I find a good steady spritz rather than a pump type hairspray is easier, but both work wonders. and it doesn't matter how old the hairspray is.

interesting. would it work on those fake leather seats? it's not fabric and not really a hard surface...

ok, I have pleather couch, and I got some pen marks on it. I'm a little worried about the dye, though. I tried a little bit of hairspray and it didn't seem to affect the coloring, but I'd try it in an inconspicuous place first.

thanks, will try it (although it's hard to find an inconspicuous place there, the marks are in the very middle of the seat Smile )

spray it where there are no marks where you can't see it. you just want to see if the hairspray affects the dye. it will remove the ink regardless.

If the alcohol doesn't work, try acetone or nailpolish remover. But I would try that in an inconspicuous location first, also.

I assume you meant nailpolish remover but just wanted to make sure. Nailpolish will only compound your problems! LOL

greenie is probably right about it removing color, though - depending on what material the chair is made from.

oops, of course I meant the remover Smile and yes, I'll try it somewhere else first, not in the middle of the seat. the chair seat is made out of fake leather.
