Put on your thinking caps and let us know what dish you have made in the past for Yom Tov that your family/guests loved over all your other dishes. And please provide the recipe as well. I love cooking and I'm looking for some new definite tried and true delicious dishes to make lkavod Yom Tov.
I make a mushroom broccoli quiche that everyone seems to love. It's simple to make and tastes great. I made up the recipe myself and don't know exact amounts .
1 frozen deep dish pie crust
1 bag frozen chopped broccoli or broccoli florets
1 can mushrooms
1 onion diced
4-6 large eggs
4 heaping tbsp mayonnaise
1 heaping tbsp onion soup mix
Salt and pepper to taste
Sauté onion in a bit of oil , add broccoli and mushrooms to sautéed pan until onions are clear and broccoli is defrosted and slightly tender. Pour mixture into frozen deep dish pie crust.
While broccoli mixture is sautéing , whisk the eggs, mayo, onion soup mix, salt and pepper until mixture is smooth and thick. Slowly pour egg mixture over the broccoli mixture in the pie crust. Be careful that it doesn't spill over into the sides. Bake in a preheated oven on 350 for about an hour until the top of the quiche is golden brown- brown .
The egg mixture will slowly settle and not remain all on the top, as it bakes
This freezes well and is a great side dish.

Honey Garlic meatballs from here.
Eggplant rolls from Balabuste cookbook.
Pickled tongue with apricot sauce from purple Spice and Spirit.
I make all 3 only once a year for Tishrei and my kids look forward to them all year.

Bonus! They all freeze well and warm up beautifully straight from the freezer.
