NPR had a great interview with the director and the actor in this film. It's filmed in Bklyn with a Hassidic cast and addresses the central issue of a widowed father trying to keep custody of his son.
Is anyone going to see it this weekend?

My ex is taking our children to see it. He speaks Yiddish and comes from a Chassidish background so I'm interested about what he'll think of it. The kids know minimal Yiddish but maybe there will be subtitles?

I'm assuming it'll have subtitles as it's being shown in theaters in NY and LA

What I don't understand is why was there a problem in the first place of him not being allowed to have custody of his son?

Did anyone see this? Is it a clean film, appropriate for kids?

I read a review of this film in a local paper and the story is that the man (the father) became a widower and the deceased wife's parents thought they would be better suited to raise the son so he'd be in a 2-parent household. It's partially based on a true story, from the review I read.
Yes it's subtitled.

It is subtitled but if you have some Yiddish you'll get more out of it. I would recommend it either way, but the subtitles don't really do it justice.
