I made this last night for dinner, it came out delicious:
You need:
*1 package of flaky dough squares
(I use the kinneret brand, which has 8 squares in a box)
* 1 pkg. hot dogs
* Instant mashed pot.
(you can make mashed pot. from scratch also - but this is much easier)
* 1 egg
* sesame seeds
Directions:
* Spread out the squares of dough, let them defrost for about 15 minutes
* Put a thin layer of mashed pot. on each square
* place one hot dog in the center of each piece of dough
* roll the dough around the hot dog
* place in an ungreased pan with the seam on the bottom so it deosn't open up.
* Egg lightly
* Put on sesame seeds
* bake uncovered on 375' for about half hour.
They are yummy!!

Wow, you have elegant dinners! This recipe would probably work well with cocktail-sized franks, and then you have something nice for a simcha.

small hotdogs rolled in dough- dip it in ketchup, of course!
cook them up, cut each hot dog in 2 or 3, roll in knish dough, and bake for a short while.

I thought a Hushpuppy was fried cornmeal?
The non-Jewish name for that dish is, as my husband refers to it, 'devar acher in a blanket'. In Israel it is called "Moshe b'tevah' or Moses in a basket.
