We are going away for the whole pesach and I'm not sure what to do about feeding our goldfish. Are there any slow release food blocks that arent chometz?

Fish can easily live without food for more than a week and it doesn't cause them any harm.

Give them to someone to care for. We have friends who did the fish blocks for vacation and the fish died. They don't really work.

We've successfully done a time-released pyramid--but you need a filter for those. we just "sold it" for pesach--even if you dont' sell chametz gamur--you won't have any hana'ah from it, only your fish.

And no, you should not starve your fish for a week unless the fish is used to it. Will die.

It's NOT starving. I've kept fish for 10 years and read a LOT about them. If you don't want to do that you can switch to real food, like worms, lettuce etc. The fish will be much healthier. Commercial fish food is an overpriced fad, no serious breeder would keep their fish on flakes (talking about ornamental fish). Of course all this advice applies if the fish is kept in good condition: it's well fed, kept in a big enough tank (in case of a goldfish it's at least 200 liters) and have very good filtration.

There is a vacation tablet pill for 14 days. Also goldfish can survive for ten days or even longer without food. But I wouldn't be that nasty as not to feed them . I would maybe leave them by a neighbor to feed them.

Use a regular vacation pyramid and sell the fish tank when you sell your chometz.

Freeze dried brine shrimp aren't chometz. In your favorite pet store or wherever fine fish food is sold.
