I have had a lot of diarrhea in the past 2 weeks and blood in my poop. I went to the doctor who did a bloodwork and poop sample and they came back clear no infection or abnormalities so hes referred me to a gastroenteroligist who will put a camera in me to see whats happening.
He said that its very strange that nothing at all came up in blood or poop samples and itd very likely I have colitis.
Is that a good sign that my tests were clear? Does it mean that its prbably a mild case of colitis?
Does anyome have any experience with this at all?
Can I be hopefull?
Btw did google search and didnt really find any useful information
Wgats it like to live with colitis? Will I be able to have more kids?

I have crohns for 8 years. And had 3 kids with the disease. Once you take meds and watch your food intake you shud feel fine. There is a crohns/ colitis group of women that give recipe and ideas to each others, feel free to join if any of your tests come back positive. Pm me. Life goes on...

Thanks for your replies!
When you found out about colitis did your bloodwork come up clear with no abnormalities? Cuz my dr seemed to think that was strange.
Also he asked me if im on BC which I am cuz he said it would be dangerous to b preg on the meds I may have to take.
So that gor me worried: is it for life? Or could I get better and have more kids?
Anyway you mentioned something about certain foods ...what arent you allowed to eat?

You may want to check out the specific carbohydrate diet: www.breakingtheviciouscycle.com .
Colitis may not respond to diet as well as Crohn's but definitely something worth considering.
And there are new medications coming out with less scary side effects, some of which are targeted more for colitis than Crohn's.
