I need to write thank you cards for baby gifts again. Im looking for ideas that are simple. I cant think of anything besides for what I wrote last time:

Thank you so much for your wonderful/beauitiful/thoughtful gift.
May we always only share in each others simchas!

I'm really awful at this. Anyone out there with some good simple ideas??

Thanks

feel for you I am bad at this too.

I just write thank you for the blank (fill it in of what they gave) it is so comfortable and came in handy. blah blah blah. thank you so much for partcipating in our simcha. sincerly so and so. but I only write this for friends mostly who really don't care what is said on the card for someone that cares well I send it off to someone more professional with words. sorry I was of no help

I think that there is a thread about this before, but I wrote my thank you cards in the name of son:

"Dear.....

My mommy, tatty and I thank you for the generous/thoughtful gift and warm wishes on the occasion of my birth/ bris ..

I cant wait to use/wear it.

love ... ( I wrote my sons name but with some letters backwards)

People definitely like getting thank-you cards even if they sound rehearsed and unoriginal. It still shows that you appreciate that they took the effort to go out and get you something and spent the money too. It's just a polite thing to do. Don't stress yourself over it.

My thank you cards were most definitely not the typical rehearsed style.

When I had my second baby I used the time between 3-4am to write thank you cards. I was up anyway nursing and rocking the baby back to sleep, so I figured why not use the time to write the cards. My husband and I used to laugh so hard in the morning when we read what I wrote in the middle of that night! Let's just say that there was no way I was going to rewrite them, so some people must have thought I was a bit strange from the content of those cards. Oh well, hopefully they realized that I was totally sleep deprived and not functioning with a full deck of cards at the time... Very Happy

I do what Rochel Leah does and send the card from the baby. Then I can put in all these lines like, "My mommy said I'll look so cute in it." If you had a bris or kiddush you can also thanking them for joining you there (if they did)- that adds another line! I also wrote at the end of some "Looking forward to meeting you soon." (if it's people out-of-town who we haven't seen yet)

I do what a lot of you say also. But I also thank people for their thoughtfulness or for thinking of us at this special time in our lives. I also wrote really strange/funny thank you notes b/c of sleep deprivation - one person gave us a box of diapers and in the thank you note I wrote (written from the baby) "thank you from the bottom of my heart and the heart of my bottom!" (I knew the gift giver would think it was very funny, I dont think I would write that to just anyone!!!!!)

Same here. I wonder if people appreciate it anyway. It is something that everyone does, it is already expected. I thank them when I get the gift..why do I need to send an official thank you card???
Thanks everyone for the idea of the "baby writing"!!

I usually try to mention the gift itself, Thak you for the beautiful outfit, kiddush cup, bath set... This way the person knows that I know what they gave.

for my babies, I would write a poem from them, and send it to everyone.
example:

Yirmiyahu is my name
Troublemaking is my game
But polite I also must be.

So respectfully I say
In my own little way
Thanx for the gift you sent me!!

Ive also added in dates of birth, weight, or any info that fit nicely into the poem. Now my siblings ask me to come up with poems for them too!!

then just thank them for their thoughtfulness in giving a gift, " how nice of you to think of us in this way" sort of thing. you don't have to lie and say I love it--if you do, you risk getting its twin the next time around.
