At this point I have more complicated stuff saved including cable knit. I'm in middle of doing a cable sweater which I put on hold since my baby was born and now I'm busy sewing chassuna outfits for my 3 kids. The sweater might get done by the time my newborn is 2 lol.
The best way to practice as a beginner Imo is scarves its repetitive but still can get done in a short time. I originally started to knit a 'gartel' it took me more than 2 years to get it done and It's still incomplete (really it was done but I didn't fasten off well and it opened up I have to redo the last 2'' ). In the meantime I did a small cosy blankie with very thick yarn. And about 5 scarves.
