mazal tov ruchel!

was there a picture that was taken down????
how come people are saying she's so cute when I don't see a picture????

tell us about motherhood ruchel! What are you going to do not to spoil her with her with so many doting relatives who will try to do just that??? Wink

one thing puzzles me - you got married in April and had the baby 11 months later, right? So why on earth did you post somewhere or other about being nervous about becoming pregnant????

Motek, she posted that sometime in May or June, very soon after she was married.

I think she was worried because her parents were only able to have one child even though they wanted more. She was worried even before she got married, if I remember correctly. BH she had nothing to worry about!

Mazel Tov Ruchel, we are all so happy for you! I hope you feel well soon.

Thank you so much ladies Smile

5boysmom: b'h she is not too hard at night (up to now?), most of the time we wake her up for eating, not the contrary LOL - maybe the constant attention during the day (my parents are always around and my grandma has arrived from Israel on sunday) tires her too much Exploding anger

Queen: so you've noticed we love dressing her in pink? Wink

Cindy & Mishie: sure I'll tell you all asap! but should I do it here or in the birth stories?? and Mishie, you're right about my parents Very Happy

Sarahd: a bit complicated for non French people (maybe). On papers she has 5 names, we decided against using more although at the town hall they said up to 10 is ok shock. The first 3 are Jewish (and family) and will be her Jewish name after baby naming, 2 last ones are secular, 1 family 1 we just liked.

Motek: no don't worry, it's normal if you don't see a pic as it's on onlysmicha - apparently the link was found before I even put all the pics online!! LOL even now not everything is there at all so I havent sent the link except to those who asked for it Smile
You're right, the spoiling could get out of hand but I have told my relatives to try not to spoil her too much Wink
Again you're right about the wedding in april, but as anon said my parents never had more than 1 although there was no reason, and several other couples had only 1 or a few with no reason either. Dh also has similar cases in his family, even C'V infertile couples.

Anon: good memory! I hope you're right as some of these couples above had the first kid quickly and then nothing or few.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the nice messages & pms!! Very Happy

Micki : to keep it short, when we were discussing baby names (this was a very long time ago, a few weeks after we met, that we wrote a list for the 8 first kids LOL shock), we looked for both girl & boy as we didn’t know what the first would be.
We first decided the Jewish name would be family as this was more important than just the sound for us, so we made a list of all the people needing naming after them. Since it was huge, we decided to give several names for the Jewish name.
We knew a good number of people with 3 (think Sholom Dov Ber), but 4 was rather rare and sometimes a name was forgotten, so we decided 3.

Then, we noticed we had people to name after that we only had the secular name – but in this category, much more men than women. So we would give 2 of them for a boy and only one for a girl. Finally we decided to give another name for a girl so she would have the same number, so we made a list of secular names we liked and choose one that sounded good with the other names, although the 5 names will only get read together at declaration, civil marriage and things like that…
Wooops, that’s not short, sorry! LOL

Now the names, first 2 are Ladino, 3rd Yiddish, then the 2 seculars in the end: Mathilde Buena Toba Victoria Clémence.
First is my maternal grandma, in her rite it is a big honour to have a grandchild or greatgrandchild named after you during your lifetime, she almost cried when she learned the name. Second is my greatgrandma (mom of the grandma mentioned before), third my other great grandma (on dad side). 4 is dh’s great grandma, but unfortunately we are not sure of her Jewish name. Probably Vita but not sure, so we just gave her secular name. Clémence we just liked and the others we liked didnt sound well after Victoria or before the surname.

Sarahd: most of the clothes were mine because my parents kept everything, but we also bought some, we just didn’t manage to stay away from baby shops LOL

wow, that's a nice list of names! Smile

it's funny, I only know of one clemence and she's in her 50s, it's not a very common name, maybe in france it is?! but I know lots of victorias, actually my friend just called her baby victoria too (in france too). actually, come to think of it, they are all original names...good job! I love when people give original names!

what are you going to call her on a daily basis? I assume you won't use all 5 names at all times...
