IF you want to be identified (rubber ducky, you specifically asked so you do not need to do this), please email me ASAP with your SN and a specific recipe that was included to help me identify your week.

Many thanks.

I actually included my screan name in my email to you. should I email again?

HUH? I'm not talking about pooling our money and relying on someone to donate it a certain way. Maybe I'm very confused, but I thought the ebook would be distributed to anyone who either 1) contributed to the content, 2) contributed $5 to a specified cause. So why can't I, who didn't submit recipes, let the imamother member in charge know that I donated the money for her to send me the ebook? If I had to send a screenshot to "prove" I donated I'd probably not really be interested. And let's say the honor system breaks down and I or someone really HASN'T donated? Who really cares. It's not costing anyone anything, it's just recipes. I'm sure MOST people will donate.

Well, yeah, that's what I thought too. You donate, if people want proof you can show a screencap, or not, you get your cookbook, end of story. There's no need for this, is what I'm saying:
Quote:
Would anyone who has contributed recipes like to volunteer to collect ideas for which Tzedaka we will donate to and agree to be responsible for sending whatever funds we raise on to wherever we select?

Why don't we just do both. Either donate to a Tzedaka of your choice or donate to a mass group. Some people might like paying the $5 to a cause where money will be gathered by one individual. Some may not. Either way, its irrelevant as long as we are all giving to great causes Smile

Sounds good to me!

Moving on to the next topic.. So far we have 52 weeks, 6 bonus weeks and probably at least 3 more bonus weeks to be typed up.
Oh, and some desserts.

I think this is really enough for this cookbook. Does anyone strongly feel we need to add more?

I don't think more is needed, but I do think if it was re-opened for some people it should be re-opened until a set time (I would say Shabbot going in), and then that's it. So if your e-mail hasn't been received by Shabbot, maybe next time.

At some point maybe they can be split into 2 books and raise more money for tzedukah. Dairy / meat; fancy / simple or along those lines.

I have received a number of good suggestions for places to give the proceeds of this project. I'll wait till Sunday for additional suggestions and then run the list by Yael and see what she thinks.

Wait. It wasn't re-opened. I was not clear. I took anyone who emailed me recipes overnight, and saved spots for those who emailed me with partial weeks or for those who needed to make adjustments...

ETA: to make it fair.. what if we say it will be opened until midnight EST on Saturday night. I will add those collected to the bonus weeks. Also, those who want their name added please email me by then with an identifying recipe so I can find you easily. After that, all recipes will be going to proof-reader who will then forward to graphic designer. Fair?

My week is already in.

Boil boned in fatty chicken (I use a while chicken my mom used half) with 6-8 sticks of celery finely chopped. To make a broth. Salt and pepper to taste. Remove chicken debone and re add.

Use a good pancake mix mix 2 cups pancake mix 2 table Spoons oil and 1 1/4 cup milk substitute. This should turn into a thick doughy texture like challah dough with waaaaayyyy too much water)

Using a spoon or your wetted (and oiled) hands scoop balls into yor boiling broth. They will somewhat dissolve turning your broth creamy and still keeping dumplings.

You can add frozen peas, carrots, onions, etc for more veggies.

We serve with a bread side dish and sometimes crackers. This is filling and for us is a whole meal.

(We don't do 50 Course suppers here)

SplitPea, you are married to a Sephardi non-wig loving guy, right? Is he also really into southern style food? My DH is Sephardi too- he would love if I could make the Kurdish food his grandma used to make, alas I cannot so he is mostly vegetarian throughout the week Wink

Is your DH from a place where they make this food or is this the food you grew up with and he has come to love?
