Yesterday ds, who is 18 months old, pointed to the cabinet where I keep whatever candy I have for Shabbos party. I told him "no candy". He smiled and said "candy" very clearly. He is getting speech therapy and that was amazing for him, so I rewarded him with a small piece of candy.
Today he brought me a Shabbos candle, and with a big smile, he said "candy!" I said, "Right! It's a candle!" So he took a bite. When it didn't work, he tried another one. Then another. He kept saying "candy, candy". He still can't figure it out.

He never actually bit any off. The candles were too hard and fat. He just kept trying all of them. But he gave up by now and is washing dishes instead.
