A friend of mine e-mailed me this thought you would like to read:
Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right
one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to
be grateful for that gift.
When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we
look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has
been opened for us.
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing
with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the
best conversation you've ever had.
Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you,
it probably hurts the other person, too.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital.
SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift.....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

and here's another one:
When the house lights dimmed and the concert was
about to begin, the mother returned to her seat
and discovered that the child was missing
Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights
focused on the impressive Steinway on stage.
In horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting
at the keyboard, innocently picking out
"Twinkle,Twinkle Little Star."
At that moment, the great piano master made his
entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and
whispered in the boy's ear, "Don't quit.""Keep playing."
Then, leaning over, Paderewski reached down with
his left hand and began filling in a bass part.
Soon his right arm reached around to the other
side of the child, and he added a running obbligato.
Together, the old master and the young novice
transformed what could have been a frightening
situation into a wonderfully creative experience.
The audience was so mesmerized that they couldn't
recall what else the great master played.
Only the classic, " Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."
Perhaps that's the way it is with G-d.
What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy.
We try our best, but the results aren't always
graceful flowing music.
However, with the hand of the Master, our life's work can truly be beautiful.
The next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully.
You may hear the voice of the Master, whispering
in your ear, "Don't quit." "Keep playing."
May you feel His arms around you and know that His
hands are there, helping you turn your feeble
attempts into true masterpieces.
