1stimer, I LOVE your tag line!! But I do think "I do means" everything! Actually my husband helps a lot but some of my friends...I can't believe what their husbands get away with.

mof2 I agree with u it does get confusing (and highly curious ) when posts get edited.
the ideal solution, would be for ppl to be polite and take things with a pinch/gallon of salt. then u wouldn't need such strict editing...

I started this original thread and (thank you motheroftwo) I don't appreciate those (no offence) but stupid comments on spelling. This is not a grammar class it is an open forum. I came here with this question because it is a situation that unfortunately I have to deal with quite often concerning two of my friends, IY"H they should be blessed with healthy children very soon. By having some posts edited after I had a chance to look at the originals I don't really know what is be directed at.
Here is a suggestion can we please try to focus on the question on hand & if you have something else to say then perhaps PM the person?

What I meant is that often "I do" at marriage turns into doing absolutely everything after. Of course it shouldn't be that way. I've said in other threads I'm shocked what some of my neighbor's husbands get away with--leaving all the kid and house stuff to the wife/mother. I am a stay-at-home mom so I do much more around the house than my husband with his fulltime job, but he still has chores like dishes after dinner and bathing kids.

here is a cute joke...
A young couple , a Long Island princess and her childhood
sweetheart who had just finished his residency got married and
went on their honeymoon. When they got back, the bride
immediately called her mother. "Well," said her mother, "so
how was the honeymoon?"
"Oh, mama," she replied, "the honeymoon was wonderful! So
romantic..." Suddenly she burst out crying. "But, mama, as soon
as we returned, Sam started using the most horrible language
-- things I'd never heard before! I mean, all these awful
4-letter words! You've got to take me home..., PLEASE MAMA!"
"Sarah, Sarah," her mother said, "Calm down! You need to stay
with your husband and work this out. Now, tell me, what could
be so awful? WHAT 4-letter words?"
"Please don't make me tell you, mama," wept the daughter,
"I'm so embarrassed, they're just too awful! COME GET ME,
PLEASE!"
"Darling, baby, you must tell me what has you so
upset. Tell your mother these horrible 4-letter words!"
Sobbing, the bride said, "Oh, Mama..., he used words
like: dust, wash, iron, cook..."
"I'll pick you up in twenty minutes," said the mother.

istimer, I think it was already discussed somewhere else - what does your husband do in your household, or something like that (yes, I know I should provide a link then, but don't have the time to look for it)
